Good Soil? Rocky Soil? Which are you?

Many of you may know there is a parable in the Bible about seed falling on various types of soil. Jesus' comments indicated the seed is the word of God. Hard soil is those who heard, but devil takes away the word from their heart. Rocky soil is they who receive the word of God with joy but there are no firm roots; they believe for a while and then fall away. Thorny ground are those who hear the word but get choked out by the world (worries, riches, pleasure of life), and bring no fruit. But the GOOD soil are those that "hear the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance."

Honestly, I think I've been all of these at some point in my life.  I feel like someone climbing up a hill and falling down part of the way, but climb again, get higher and fall less distance. So I'm not back on the ground, but I'm not as high as I once was. I keep climbing; I get higher. I fall back less. So I'm farther up the hill each time, but not where I should/could be. God doesn't judge us by how far up the hill we are. He judges us only by the partner we have next to us, encouraging us, giving us the strength to keep going. Jesus is that partner.
Believe in Him, trust Him.

As long as we believe in our partner, Jesus, and accept His gift of love and encouragement in our lives, it won't matter what struggles we've been going through. Let Jesus use your situation, your struggles, to show others that steadfastness of Jesus. He is our light and our salvation.

A tree is judged by its fruit, yes. I will address that in my next post. Keep Jesus as your partner.
He is with you ALWAYS.

Blessings,

Mary
